In August of 1960, our founder, Emulous E. Hall III (aka Buddy Hall) carved out a dirt track and set up a card table for the grand opening of “Bud’s Go-Karts”. Over the past 63 years, that humble start has grown up to be one of the most iconic destinations on Cape Cod for generations of children and families.

“Bud”, a thirteenth generation Harwichian, WWII veteran, active community volunteer and benefactor, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, ran his beloved track to his very last day. He was always fond of saying that "God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things, and I am so far behind that I will never die." Everyone who knew him believed that he would, indeed, "live forever" but without a doubt, he did far more than "enough" during his long busy life. Since his passing in 2018 at the age of nearly 96, his indomitable spirit lives on. We know that he is looking down with pride as his legacy continues under the care and keeping of his family who have worked side by side with him for over 40 years.

As we celebrate what would have been Bud’s 100th birthday this year, we look forward to a busy summer season welcoming new friends and the return of many old friends.
